The first steps to form an inclusive local development plan were taken on Monday afternoon, December 11 at the accessibility event that took place in the meeting room of the Regional Council in Komotini, co-organized by the regions of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the municipality of Komotini, with the support of the Association for children and adults with IDD, autism & asperger-DADAA, the Association of people with mobility problems and Friends of N. Rodopi PERPATO as well as the Association for the care of Disabled Mental Retardation N.Rodopi "Agioi Theodoroi" under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture. With the ultimate aim of highlighting universal accessibility as a main feature of modern cities, the exchange of good practices and the presentation of thoughts and programs that can contribute to the creation of such a plan, representatives of the organizing bodies, as well as all the attendees presented the history of what has so far been done in the region and of what can in the future compose this plan, with the basic slogan "inclusion in practice". The event was coordinated by the founder of the group of Cool Crips and vice president of the Association of PERPATO, Mr. Spyros Dandanidis, who during the event undertook the acoustic announcement of what took place for the blind, while at the event there was parallel interpretation in sign language.
